Today Is a Good Day to Talk with God

“Today Is a Good Day to Talk with God” by Joan Y. Edwards
Many times during the holidays, you may forget about God. You may be so busy getting ready for special celebrations and get-togethers with family and friends that you leave God out of it. He wants to be there with you. He wants to be a part of your ritual and routine. He wants you to talk with him each morning. He wants you to talk with him during the day. He wants you to talk with him before you go to sleep.

God wants to help you achieve your dreams. He wants to heal you of your ailments. He wants to increase the money you earn and save.
You might say, “I don’t know how to talk with God. He is so big and powerful. He won’t talk to someone as unimportant as I am.”
This is not true. God made you in his image. He wants to be a part of your life. He wants to know the things that bother you. He wants to have a relationship with you.

If you need a reminder, put an index card on your dresser. Put an index card on your pillow. Put one on the remote control for the TV. Put a screensaver on your phone that says, “Talk to God.”
Talk to God in the morning. Talk to God at noon. Talk to God at night.

God is always listening. He’s never too busy. If you call him on the phone and it seems he isn’t answering, think again. Check your ears to make sure they are open to new words from him. Check your eyes to see if they have on sunglasses that are so dark, you can’t see anything. Check your stomach to make sure you’re not eating foods that you know are not good for you. Check your feet to make sure you’re not walking into places you know are not good for you.

Ask God to forgive you for your mistakes and erring ways. Ask him to help you. Believe he will help you. He will be there for you. God’s got you covered.
God loves you very much.

Love yourself and love others, too. Proclaim that you are a child of the most high God.

Thank you for reading this post. Good luck in all your endeavors.

  1. Hi, Joany,

    1. Dear Violette,
Thank you for writing. Thank you for asking God to bless me. I am glad that you enjoyed the reminder that God knows all about you and understands why you feel sad or overwhelmed. He has the answers for you! He is holding his arms out and calling you to him for a hug and the answers!

  2. Hi, again, we are almost done editing, next we are going to redo the cover. I also sent Chris my next project a book of Poetry & Prose which I never published. His comment is “I am enjoying reading these writings” and he gave me a smiley face which he has never done before.

      1. I know I’m blessed thanks for saying so. I’m working really hard and it’s coming along. Amazing how much you learn by doing it yourself but needed professional help or just maybe in the year 3000 I would have my one book published. What a thought! How are you? My dear & only true friend talks with God daily, you remind me of her and not just because of that. If you would pray for her, she has been terribly sick flu, no health insurance, couldn’t afford it. Sad a country as wealthy as ours. Joany has a blessed and happy New Year, Love you,
        Violette
