“Every Day Should Be Earth Day.” by Joan Y. Edwards

Today is Earth Day. Every day should be earth day. A day when we take good care of the earth and the people, plants, animals, resources on it.

Everyone lives in a different space but all of us can do our part to make the earth healthier.

Keep our space clean and well-organized.

Plant a flower. Plant a tree.

Recycle or reuse what you can.

Use it up. Wear it out. Don’t waste.

Donate extra food to a local food bank. Donate clothing, furniture, and miscellaneous household items to charitable organizations like Goodwill, Kidney Foundation, and Salvation Army.

Dispose of trash properly.

When you go for a picnic or visit a park, take out what you brought in.

I am so thankful that God created this earth and us. Pray for our earth and everyone and everything in it!

Please leave a comment about what you love about our earth!

Enjoy being you! Have fun!

Never Give Up’

  1. Joan my dear,
You’re a bit of fresh air in a world gone crazy.
I would like to add to your list: Live simply so you may simply live. Every dollar we spend is a dollar stolen from the future — and there is no longer any future to steal from.

      1. Hey Joan hope this email finds you happy, well and prosperous.

        1. Dear Don,
It is so good to hear from you and even more exciting as a comment on my blog. Thank you very much. I hope you’ll subscribe to my blog. I have many fun memories of you from Ashwell Oaks Lane. You helped me and Carl a bunch with my Mother and helping me powersaw the tree from my neighbor’s yard. I hope you are doing well. Hope your heart continues to heal from the surgery. Enjoy being you. Do something fun for you.

  2. My mother loved to work in her flower gardens. Many of the variety of plants she had came from her mother-in-law or her mother or maybe a neighbor. Most of these were perennials that returned every year, or shrubs that were easy to root like azaleas. I remember my mom taking a brick and laying it on top of a low lying limb on an azalea plant to encourage it to root and start another plant. Recently, I have been sharing Canna lilies with neighbors. One gave me bedding plants she had started as a thank you and another one is sharing irises with me. Last year, I bought a bouquet of local garden flowers for a friend who had broken her arm. These simple things bring joy. Some of my fondest memories include flowering plants. Happy Earth Day every day.

    1. Dear Linda,
Thank you very much for writing. It’s so exciting that you love flowers and planting them brings you so much joy. It’s so neat that your mother also loved planning perennials in her yard. It is so neat that so many people are willing to share flowers and plants with each other. Sharing makes us feel good. Enjoy being you. You share so many things with others. You are a blessing!
