“Thank you for Nine Wonderful Years!” by Joan Y. Edwards

Thank you to the many readers and subscribers for my blog. You keep me going. You make my life brighter.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’ve had a website since 2002. It had over 300,000 views.  I began a blog at joanyedwards on wordpress.com on October 9, 2009. It grew to 500,000 views this year. Thank you to each of you who made my online presence grow by sharing with others and by leaving thoughtful comments on my blog and sent me emails about my website and blog.

In May 2018, I pulled my blog and my website together.  Using BlueHost enables me to use the WordPress.org templates. I moved the old blog posts to this site. I chose BlueHost to host my website/blog because it offered HTTPS – a secure site.

On Thanksgiving Day and every day, the Bible tells us to be thankful and to ask for what we want:

Philippians 4:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Here is a link to this scripture and other verses that may help you voice your thankfulness to God: https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/gratitude-bible-verses/

Mark 11:24 New International Version (NIV)
2Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Here is a webpage with this quote and other scripture quotes to help you receive what you need: https://www.openbible.info/topics/ask_and_you_shall_receive

The nitty gritty here is believing that you will receive what you ask for…faith can move mountains. Sometimes, life’s situations rob us of some or all of our faith. That’s when we have to take little steps of faith.

My prayer for you today is that God grant you peace with hope and trust that he will take care of you and your loved ones.

I am very thankful that you have made these my top 6 blog posts since October 9, 2009:

Thank You, Mother

A Tribute to Ethel D. Meyer

Thank you
for giving me life.

Thank you
for washing my toes and curling my hair.
for sewing my clothes to show that you care.

for cooking hot dogs, beans, and applesauce on Monday nights. It gave Judith, Janet, Butch and me stability.

Thank you
for leading our Camp Fire Girls’ Troop because
being chosen to lead a teen discussion of “How to Add Charm to Your Personality” at Camp Fire Girl Day Camp boosted my self-confidence to 110.

Thank you
for teaching me to bake simple tasty cakes, meatloaf, and German-fried potatoes.

Thank you
for teaching me that the greatest respect you can show for yourself and others is to accept the answer “no” without hatred or  resentment.

Thank you
for teaching me the art of forgiveness
and unconditional love.

Thank you
for buying Aunt Kitty’s 1950 Plymouth for me.
I learned to treasure and take care of my old transportation and it would last until I could get a newer one.

Thank you
for instilling the wisdom of being satisfied when I did the best I could with my studies, even if I didn’t get an A, all the time.

Happy Mother’s Day! I know you’re up there in Heaven with all the other wonderful Mothers from our world since the beginning of time. Enjoy yourself  today.

Love,
Your daughter,
Joan
