“Grateful Friday” by Joan Y. Edwards

Yee Haw! Today is Friday. I am very thankful that there is a Friday. Fridays end the work week. Days off of Saturday and Sunday usually follow for many people.  Even if you have to work on the weekends, it’s a great idea to be thankful for Fridays. Friday has many names I am sure. We name it Accountability Friday, End of Work Week. We say, “Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF).
Naming things, people, and experiences you are grateful  for gives you wonderful chances of receiving more of them in your life.
It gives me comfort to know if someone cheated me out of something that was mine, God will replenish it double. I hope that gives you comfort, too. I think it includes if you made an innocent mistake, God will help you straighten it out. God is merciful to you and me.
Deuteronomy 30:3 Almighty God, Your God, will restore everything you lost; he’ll have compassion on you; he’ll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered.
Zechariah 9:12 Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.

What does the Bible say about being thankful to God?

1. Psalm 136. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
2. Philippians 4-6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
3. Psalm 9:1. “I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart.”
4. Ezra 3:11. With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:
I found a few interesting Friday Hashtags (topics noted with number sign to let people in social media know what the post is about).

I hope you’ll leave a comment. I love hearing from you. If there’s a topic you’d like for me to write an article about, please let me know.

    1. Dear Carol,
Thank you for writing. I’m glad that my adding scripture texts to my blog posts makes you grateful, glad, and happy. That makes me grateful, glad, and happy, too. Without God, we are nothing, nada, zilch, unmade, unborn. So I am grateful to God for everything I have and everything I am. Enjoy your day being you!
