Why Not Write?
Reasons for writing
Writing is exhilarating, hard work, fun, challenging, meaningful, tough, and helpful to yourself and others.
Writing informs, entertains, teaches, instructs, elaborates, describes, challenges, gives meaning to events, assists, persuades, and gives power to emotions.
Writing comes in many forms: notes, lists, letters, cards, newsletters, newspapers, magazines, books, e-books, emails, websites, blogs, and ads.
Books come in many different genres:
Children: Fiction and Non-Fiction: board books, picture books, easy readers, chapter books, middle grade, and young adult novels.
Adult: Fiction: short stories, novellas, and novels
Non-Fiction – Biographies, Memoirs, Research from specific areas, for instance, cookbooks, how to fix your car, how to repair things around the house, how to write a book, etc.
Children and Adults: Skits, Stage Plays and Screenplays (Movies and Television)

Thank you for the encouragement, Joan. Actually, I’ve hit a bit of a brick wall in my writing at the moment. I have a bad case of trumpitis.

Dear Dr. Bob Rich,
Thank you for writing. I’m glad my words encouraged you. Believe in you! You can do it, regardless of what inflammation (-itis) you have. The world needs to read what you have to say! Write on.

Hi Joan and Happy Cheers 2017! Your first message for this year was a pleasant reminder for me to return to my writing. Already have revised a short piece; and I’m working on an article for the Journal News. But what I really want to accomplish is to complete some of my more serious and personal writing. Your encouragement is invaluable!
