“You Are Enough. You Have Enough. You Do Enough,” by Joan Y. Edwards
When you get busy or overwhelmed or countless other reasons, sometimes your mind gets filled with doubt. Recently, I looked on YouTube for positive affirmations. I found one by Lavendaire that helped me get back on track. In life we feelings about health, finances, insurance, relationships with family and friends, activities, what you can do, what you can’t do. The reality of these things may change. Your feelings change. Your understandings change. Your experiences change. Your old beliefs may not be true or helpful any more. You may have to pave new paths in your brain. The old ones may not work in your current situation.
Maybe I can explain it this way. You have been to your favorite grocery store once a week for 5 years…all of a sudden, you can’t do that any more. Many possible reasons: Store closed, roads changed and you can’t get there the same way. or they no longer carry the groceries you need. Or like when COVID-19 came, you were scared to go to the grocery store because you might get sick. You need a new plan. Or a new way to look at things. Or perhaps you just need to rekindle those self-powering beliefs that are still there but may be hidden. The trust that God is guiding you. The trust that you are in the right place. You have everything you need. Some people say the Universe or all that is good are leading them. It is still God. God is in us. God is there for you. He is there for me. He is there for us.
It is important for you to say both the “i” statements and hear the “You” statements and see which is more believable inside.
You are enough.
You have enough.
You do enough.
or you could say:
I am enough.
I have enough.
I do enough.
If you are talking about a family or a relationship, you can say:
We are enough.
We have enough.
We do enough.
When I went online a couple of weeks ago, I found self-affirmations by Lavendaire. She says, “Life is an art. Make it your masterpiece.”
I think they might help you take a different way, a calmer way, a peaceful way.

doubt can undermine us at the core, thanks for reminding us it’s
good to recenter and reaffirm our belief in self. sometime it’s the hardest thing to find especially with so many turns and twists and forks in the road.
Dear Bill,
Thank you for writing. You are right. Sometimes we get overwhelmed and confused with all kinds of uncomfortable anxious feelings that can undermine us at the core. You are welcome for reminding us that it is good to recenter and reaffirm our belief in self. With belief in self comes courage and hope and trust in self which slides over to help us Never Give Up.

Except… I’m not enough without Christ, my Lord.

Dear Carol,
Thank you for writing. I am glad you feel you are enough with Jesus. That is a good thing to always remember. But being human, we sometimes forget.
Thank you for encouraging me and others. You are a blessing.
Never Give Up
Love,
Joan
Thank you, Joan for giving us your blogs to read. I know Jesus is with me and guides me but like you say sometimes you don’t think it’s enough you don’t deserve it, but in all reality you are forgiven. I need to remember that every day.
Dear Emma,
Thank you very much for writing. It means a lot to me that my words helped you. I hope it helped you accept yourself as you are! You are enough, You have enough. You do enough. God is happy with you just as you are right now! Sending love and hugs to you.
