May Christmas Bring You Joy and Understanding!
A short story by Joan Y. Edwards
The little boy tugged on his Mother’s arm. “Momma, the baby Jesus isn’t under the tree.”
“What? Why not? Where is he?” his mother said.
“I don’t know. I’ll look for him.”
The little boy looked under his bed and in the trunk of his father’s car. He looked in the hall closet and searched the big boxes in the basement. He couldn’t find the baby Jesus anywhere.
“No luck,” he said to his Mother and shook his head from side to side.
“Don’t worry. Your Daddy and I will find the Baby Jesus before midnight and put him under the Christmas Tree.”
“But, Momma, what if we can’t find him. How will the world be saved without the baby Jesus.”
His mother said, “Don’t worry. On Christmas morning, the baby Jesus will be right here.”
His daddy said, “He always comes where he is wanted.”
And so on Christmas morning, just as his parents had said, the baby Jesus was right there in the manger under the Christmas Tree. Two angels were there with the baby Jesus. They must have brought him back. Alleluia.
