“Joan’s Elder Care Guide Is a Great Gift for Caregivers” by Joan Y. Edwards
Are you taking care of another person? Do you know someone who is taking care of an elderly person? If so, please consider sharing with them about my book, Joan’s Elder Care Guide, published by 4RV Publishing. I had the privilege of caring for my mother, Ethel D. Meyer for 14 years. She had a great sense of humor and wisdom. I wrote this book to help you and those you love care for someone else without being left out yourself.
Joan’s Elder Care Guide: Empowering You and Your Elder to Survive published by 4RV Publishing is a great gift for caregivers. Families and friends of caregivers of the elderly realize that caregivers spend so much time caring for and about their elders, they forget to do things for themselves. Therefore, this book makes a nice gift to remind them to take time for themselves and that there are ways to get the help they need.
It’s also a great gift for the elderly. They can make notes in the margins of the book of things they would like their caregivers, family, and friends to do with them and/or for them.
Joan’s Elder Care Guide: Empowering You and Your Elder to Survive gives you, the caregiver, ways to meet your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, and social needs and those of your elder to promote healing, well-being, and survival.
Based on author’s research and fourteen years of experience caring for her mother. It includes many resources to find the right place for your elder to live. It explains ways to improve communication to help find solutions to problems, and includes organization ideas for medical, financial, insurance, and legal documents.
Joan’s Elder Care Guide offers practical ways for you, the caregiver to get time away from caregiving responsibilities. It tells you essential information to leave for substitute caregivers in order to keep your elder safe. The book explains the signs of the end of life, ways to celebrate an elder’s life, and tells the duties of an executor of an estate. It also includes ten useful charts to assist in assessing and recording an elder’s needs and capabilities.

This book isn’t just for those caring for elder’s, but any caregiver. I wish I had read it before my husband fell from our roof and broke five vertebrae!
Thank you very much for writing. I’m glad that you believe my book is for any caregiver. I’m sorry your husband fell from your roof and broke five vertebrae. I hope he’s fully healed now! Thanks for reading my blog and sharing tidbits of wisdom with me.
